As of October 2025, the United Nations designates 44 countries as Least Developed Countries (LDCs), a list that includes nations like Afghanistan, Haiti, Yemen, and Zambia. This classification, which is based on criteria such as income, human assets, and economic and environmental vulnerability, provides these nations with access to specific international support measures and is reviewed by the UN Committee for Development Policy every three years.

- Africa (33): Angola, Benin, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Central African Republic, Chad, Comoros, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Djibouti, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Gambia, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Lesotho, Liberia, Madagascar, Malawi, Mali, Mauritania, Mozambique, Niger, Rwanda, São Tomé and Príncipe, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, Togo, Uganda, United Republic of Tanzania and Zambia
- Asia (9): Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Cambodia, Lao People’s Democratic Republic, Myanmar, Nepal, Timor-Leste, and Yemen
- Caribbean (1): Haiti
- Pacific (3): Kiribati, Solomon Islands, and Tuvalu

✓LDC হলো উন্নয়নশীল দেশগুলির একটি তালিকা যা জাতিসংঘের মতে, আর্থ-সামাজিক বিকাশের সর্বনিম্ন সূচক প্রদর্শন করে।
✓২০২১ সালের হিসাবে, ৪৬ টি দেশকে এলডিসি হিসাবে শ্রেণিবদ্ধ করা হয়েছে।
✓১৯৭১ সালে প্রথম স্বল্পোন্নত দেশের তালিকা করা হয়।
✓বাংলাদেশ ১৯৭৫ সালে এই তালিকায় অন্তর্ভুক্ত হয়। ধারনা করা হচ্ছে, পাঁচ বছর পর এলডিসি থেকে বের হয়ে উন্নয়নশীল দেশের কাতারে চলে যাবে বাংলাদেশ।
✓বর্তমানে ৪৭টি স্বল্পোন্নত দেশ আছে। এ পর্যন্ত মালদ্বীপ, বতসোয়ানা, ইকুয়েটোরিয়াল গিনি, সামোয়া ও কেইপ ভার্দে—এই পাঁচ দেশ এলডিসি(LDC) থেকে বের হয়েছে।
